Galene Lakes (not finished)

June 20, 2004

The trail is located on Skagit Valley just before the border. The hike starts at Chittenden Bridge on which used to be a logging road.

After the bridge there is a self-guiding interpretative trail called Chittenden Meadow.

This is a beautiful meadow with wild flowers, prairie grasses, ponderosa pine and lots of mosquitoes.

I found the trail to be unmaintained and in very poor condition.

The first park was easy to follow.

But we reached a point where the bridge was washed out.

With a little bit of difficulty we crossed the creek.

15 minutes later we reached another creek and found parts of the trail gone. Hopefully in the future I will give it a second try.
