What about an early snowshoeing on the Coquihalla? Mount Henning was the place chosen for this hike. A very popular snowmobile area in the winter time this is the best time to snowshoeing without being hit by a snowmobile.
We follow the road with its upward switchbacks. There are some viewpoints along the ascend.
The views of distant peaks and valleys is really appealing. From here we had views of Coquihalla Highway, Coquihalla lakes and the toll booth -- the only one in the province --
The short day made impossible to reach the peak -- we needed at least another hour -- so we took a rest and we wander on a very nice viewpoint.
This area has an excellent game, I think that a patient hunter will have a lot of fun. We saw footprints everywhere, elks and deer to be more specific.
From this place there is an alpine route north to Thynne Mountain. I would like to try this transverse but still I don't have enough information to attempt this hike.
This hike can be completed doing a circuit crossing a snowmobile cabin. Choosing this route you can have a shady return on a hot day but this time we returned following our original route.
